Voice of AOL’s iconic ‘You’ve Got Mail’ has died

ELWOOD EDWARDS, VOICE OF AOL’S ICONIC GREETING ‘YOU’VE GOT MAIL,’ DIES AT 74

“You’ve Got Mail!”

You may not know his name, but you certainly know his voice.

Elwood Edwards died Tuesday (Nov. 5) at the age of 74. Any former AOL user would recognize his voice. More than 30 years ago, Edwards recorded four iconic lines for what was then a little-known company called America Online.
