Meet Joseph Fenity
INDEPENDENT JOURNALIST AND DOCUMENTARY PRODUCER
Joseph Fenity got his start in professional storytelling in the early 2000s when he landed his first on-air job at a radio station near his hometown of Austin, Texas. A decade later, that same town honored him with Joseph Fenity Day in recognition of his achievements in advancing innovative ways of delivering news and other creative content digitally.
In 2006, long before podcasting hit the mainstream, The San Francisco Bay Guardian labeled Fenity a "podcast pioneer," honoring his audio series with its “Best of the Bay” Award. Fenity’s voice has been heard throughout North America during his time as a New York-based reporter for SiriusXM.
In 2021, two decades after the September 11th attacks, Fenity’s first-hand interviews with 9/11 survivors and the students of Stuyvesant High School were digitally converted and made available online for the very first time.
Fenity has remained committed to telling the story of Betty Willis, the forgotten 60s soul singer who was murdered on New Year’s Day of 2018. Fenity shares her story in Killing Betty Willis.
Joseph Fenity is based in Los Angeles.
